                       Many Challenges Conflict Resolution Professionals Face Practicing or Conducting

  • February 15 S-CAR/SPP Spring Career and Internship Fair.  Closed to S-CAR and SPP graduate
                        students only and alumni.  S-CAR undergraduate seniors and alumni are encouraged 
                        to register.  Arlington Campus, Founders Hall, Multipurpose Room.  To Register for the  
                        Graduate Career and Internship Fair, please go to the:
                        Registration Page.  Then click on the Student Registration.  Employers who are    
                        attending the career fair will soon be added to the web site and then updated
                        accordingly. If you are a S-CAR alumni member, please register under Student
                        Registration.
  • Feburary 15 S-CAR After the Fair Happy Hour.  Meet and network with other S-CAR students and
                       S-CAR alumni after the career and internship fair on Wednesday February 15, from 5pm
                       to 7pm at O'Sullivans Irish Pub in Clarendon (right down the street from S-CAR). Please
                       email scaralum@gmu.edu if you plan on joining us.

S-CAR Distinguished Alumni Award

Update!  January 10, 2012.  The Recipient for this year's award has been selected and will be formally awarded at the GMU Alumni Association's Annual Celebration of Distinction on March 28, 2012. 

2012 S-CAR Distinguished Alumni Award: Call for Nominations!

For the past three years, S-CAR has awarded an Alumni member with the S-CAR Distinguished Alumni Award. All S-CAR Alumni are eligible to receive this award (undergraduate, certificate, MS and PhD).  

We would like to receive nominations from the S-CAR Alumni Community. The S-CAR Faculty Board will then select the winner at the December 2011 Faculty Board meeting.  The award recipient will be presented with the award at the GMU Alumni Association's Annual Celebration of Distinction, March 28, 2012.

Professional accomplishments
Awards and recognition
Service/contributions to S-CAR/community
Level of engagement with the University
Demonstrated excellence in conflict resolution theory/research/practice

GMU Alumni Association Annual Awards

For more than 30 years, the GMU Alumni Association has recognized outstanding alumni, students, and faculty. Through nominations, the Alumni Association selects and recognizes an Alumnus or Alumna of the Year, a Faculty Member of the Year, an Alumni Service Award winner, and presents one Senior of the Year.

Nomination Requirements

* Resume and/or biography of the nominee
* Nominating statement that addresses the specified criteria (Nominating statements should be no more than two pages typewritten.)
* A maximum of three supporting letters for each nomination
* Current members of the George Mason Alumni Association board of directors are ineligible for the award, and previous recipients are not eligible for the same award.
* The deadline for nominations is Nov 11, 2011. We are currently accepting nominations online.
