Luba Fajfer holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles. She has over 20 years of working and research experience in the NIS and CEE regions. Since 1988, she has served as a co-editor of a refereed quarterly ‘Communist and Post-Communist Studies (formerly, ‘Studies in Comparative Communism'). She has assumed her current position as an education officer for the USAID Europe and Eurasia Bureau in 2002 and oversees a broad portfolio of education-related activities and topics in basic and higher education, including corruption in education, youth issues, out of school youth, to name just a few. Since 1995, prior to joining USAID, Luba has worked as a consultant to the E&E Bureau and evaluated university partnership projects in Central and Eastern Europe dealing with management training and economics education.
