This is a private professional, academic, and social network for ICAR Students, Faculty, Staff, Alumni, and Associates where announcements, discussion, networking and more can be shared.
You can request to join the network by visiting the above link and creating a profile. Your request must be approved before you will be able to access the network.
Having trouble viewing files with the extension .docx, .xlsx, and .pptx? These files were created with Office 2007 or 2008. They can be opened in old versions of office with a simple patch.

Mac Office 2004 users will need to visit the following link and download the latest Office 2004 patch as well as the XML File Format converter: http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.mspx
If you use a version of Office (2007 and 2008) that uses the new file formats, consider saving your documents in the old format for increased compatability for people you share your files with. This can be done each time you save a file for the first time, or you can set this to be your default.

Computer labs are located in the Arlington Original Building, Room 306 (Phone:703- 993-8226) and in Arlington I, Rooms 342 and 350 (Phone: 703-993-8984/8985). The labs are open to faculty, staff, and students
Pay for Print Printers are located inside of the computer labs and Copy Machines are located in the Arlington Library and the Law School Library. You must re-fill your Mason ID card in the Law School Library where Print Services is located.
Computers assigned to GRA's are available to students when they are not in use by their GRA. For the good of the ICAR community, we request that you take reasonable precautions to prevent contamination by virus. Run Norton Anti-virus on every disk you put in an ICAR PC. Do not install any software on these computers without permission.
MESA accounts are required to use a computer at ICAR and they are available to anyone with a GMU email address. Visit: http://password.gmu.edu to set your password.
Advanced Software is available in the John Burton Library for quantitative and qualitative research, video and audio editing, web site creation, scanning, and more. Please see the Burton Library for more information.
Wireless Internet Access is available in the ICAR offices and Classrooms on the 5th and 6th floor of the Truland Building. Please see the wireless info handout for instructions on accessing the wireless network. For more information visit GMU's wireless info page.
There is a copy machine located on each of the two floors in the Truland - the 5th and 6th. They accept payment from your GMU ID card which must have money put on it at Print Services in the Law School Library.
Printing at ICAR is reserved for faculty, staff, and GRA's. Limited printing is permitted by students, however excess usage will lead to the implementation of a pay-for-print system.
