Biography

Hussein Yusuf is a Ph.D. Candidate at George Mason University’s School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution. He is from Somalia. At S-CAR, Hussein studies Conflict Analysis and Resolution where he focuses on state collapse, reconciliation and ethnic violence. Hussein worked in Yemen, Somalia, Ethiopia on United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees’ Projects, Partners for Development and the International Rescue Committee. Hussein has written for and appeared on many media outlets such as Voice of America, British Broadcasting Services, Foreign Policy in Focus, Washington Post, Newsweek, Common Ground News, Altmuslim, the Daily News of Egypt, Michigan Radio, Wardheernews and others. Hussein regularly attends conferences and appears on panel discussions.
