K. C. Soares, Ph.D. is an international management consultant and Executive Director of Smith Soares Associates. Her interests are in participatory approaches and process of working together and her clients include organizations, formal and informal, in the public, private and third sector.

worked for 18 years with the OAS-Organization of American States before founding her consultancy company. She is the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Advisors, Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University and is also the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the OAS Staff Federal Credit Union. She was the founding President of IODA-International Organization Development Association and is actively involved with other organizational efforts in micro-credit, poverty reduction, and human capital improvement. Her doctorate is from Cornell University; she has a M.A. in Business, a M.S. in Education, and was Scholar-in-Residence at Vanderbilt University. She has worked in about 40 countries and is published in eleven countries.
