Charles martin-shields
Charles Martin-Shields's research focuses on why some states, in spite of significant conflict risk, are resilient over time, and how this knowledge can be normatively valuable in peacekeeping operations and international development. He also has a strong interest in the evolving role that technology plays in peacebuilding and development, and currently works as a project manager with TechChange, a Washington, D.C.-based consulting group. Prior to TechChange, Charles was a research assistant and consultant at the U.S. Institute of Peace, and is a returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Samoa, 2005-2007). Charles earned his M.A. in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University's School of International Service, and holds a B.A. in German Language and Studies.
