CONF 695: Police and Minority Communities: Increasing Trust and Reducing Human Rights Violations

This course will explore why unjustified or unnecessary police violence occurs, how it impacts both police and minority communities, and how to prevent it, including through conflict resolution. We will focus on 3 case studies: policing in black and Hispanic communities in the US, the work of counter terrorism officers in the US and elsewhere, and policing in Roma communities in Europe.
