Abstract
Using Rwanda and Bosnia as case study, this research aims to engage with the literature on the social construction of the acquired identity formed by the labels of victim and perpetrator as well as the notion of “diasporic consciousness” created in the context of post-conflict settings. Furthermore, the research takes the premises of social categorization and diasporic consciousness and utilizes them through the exploration of political participation.
